Activities:- Each day at the Royal Madikwe is designed entirely by you with the guidance of your experienced ranger's wealth of knowledge.

A Dawn & Dusk game drive in an open vehicle, especially designed for optimum comfort and game viewing, is recommended daily to experience the unforgettable sights of the African bush.

In addition to game drives, Bush Walks provide the opportunity to get closer to your surroundings, appreciating the quietness of the bush and the excitement of following game paths, in the footsteps of the animals. Bush Walks also allow you to gain interesting knowledge of the smaller creatures and plant life within the reserve.

Wildlife:- Lion, elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo, leopard - Big Five- also cheetah and wild dog - Magnificent seven.

Giraffe, zebra, warthog, baboon, monkey, hippo, crocodile, and a variety of antelope including kudu, impala, waterbuck, Springbok, Wildebeest, Eland, Blesbok, Tsessebe and teenbok are regularly seen, along with a number of the more elusive or less common animals. Return flights to Royal Madikwe from Johannesburg are fully inclusive and are not charged at an additional cost. We believe that the experience and impression of Royal Madikwe should start the minute our guests arrive in Johannesburg.

Relaxed, Luxurious, Exclusive and Special – This is the manner in which our guests are received and transferred to Royal Madikwe. A personal escort will greet our guests directly off their international/domestic flight in Johannesburg and assist them through immigration, baggage control & customs. Guests will then be escorted to the Intercontinental Hotel where their personal chauffer will be waiting. Should the guests not be flying into Johannesburg, we will collect them from any address requested within Johannesburg.

The chauffer transfers to Rand airport will be in black E500 Mercedes Benz vehicles. On arrival at Rand Airport our guests will have the use of a fully serviced departure lounge and enjoy red carpet treatment from the departure lounge to our immaculate aircrafts. Once on board, passengers can relax and enjoy the one hour flight into Madikwe Game Reserve where their ranger will welcome them and drive them to their residence.

Please note, road transfers can also be arranged upon request.

Child policy:- Children of all ages are welcome and there is a permanent Nanny to assist supervise children if needed. Royal Madikwe offer many fun activities to keep children entertained and amused. Royal Madikwe does not take responsibility for the children’s safety whilst at the lodge or out on game drive and ask that parents supervise their children at all times.

Communication:- Communications are available within the Main Lodge. Internet access via satellite, DSTV & Fax.

Power Supply:- The lodge is powered by ESCOM and power points are available in the rooms for chargers, electrical shavers and hairdryers, they are also linked to a generator in case of a Power failure. Electricity voltage is 220v.
